ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
MARINE CORPS VETERANS ASSOCIATION
The Marine Corps Veterans Association was founded in 2007 in Sacramento, California and is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(19) nonprofit war-veterans organization.
OUTER BANKS PLATOON
The Outer Banks Platoon was formed in 2018 and services the needs of veterans in Dare and Currituck Counties in northeastern North Carolina as a subordinate unit of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
MISSION
The primary mission of the Marine Corps Veterans Association is to offer aid and assistance to Marines, and Navy Corpsmen who have served with Fleet Marine Forces, and to their families. This includes those currently on active service, members of the reserve establishment, and those honorably separated, retired, disabled, or injured.
Secondly, the organization also serves as a vehicle to educate and to provide recognition of our nation's veterans to the general public through visible displays that promote patriotism and awareness to the sacrifices made by those who have been called to service in the Armed Forces of the United States. These displays typically include honor guards for veterans burial services, color guards for civic functions, educational displays at local activities, and participation in community service projects and events.
Lastly, the Marine Corps Veterans Association serves as a fraternal organization to perpetuate the camaraderie and esprit-de-corps that our members experienced while on active service and to foster that spirit to inspire teamwork to the benefit of veterans and our local community.
Although many of us are no longer on active service, we remain responsive to the call to serve our nation for the benefit of our fellow Americans.
